Operation Christmas Child ($750)
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love. The $400 covers the Shipping costs for the 150 boxes filled by our church family.
TEEN CHALLENGE ($800)
Teen Challenge Canada operates faith-based in-residence treatment facilities for women and men struggling with drug or alcohol addiction dependency issues. They help men and women to overcome addictions by developing the whole person within the context of a residential facility.
First Light Foundation of Hope ($1,500)
Our partnership will assist to provide gift bags (Sacks of Love) and helpful resources for the under resourced during the Christmas season and the associated weather. The organization’s mandate is to demonstrate the love of Christ to the under-resourced living in downtown Oshawa.
Gate 3:16 ($1,500)
This is a drop-in centre for people ages 24 and up who are needing help in some area of their life. Whether it be looking for a hot meal, some extra encouragement through counselling or resources for various health issues, they are there. We are excited to be supporting them this year through the various contributions.
Firm Israel ($2,000)
FIRM stands for the Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries. The recent tragedy and horrific experiences of so many Israeli's has prompted us to double down our efforts to make sure that this important para-church ministry helps to meet the tangible needs of Israelis as they try to take good care of one another. The humanitarian need is very real among under-resourced Israelis.
Church-planting and revitalization in Portugal ($2,500)
We’re partnering with Pastor Jorge Melo and his family to strengthen the revitalization effort around establishing local churches in Portugal. Your giving helps to advance the disciple-making communities in this country that is becoming largely unreached.
Angel Tree (25 Children x $35 gifts = $900)
Angel Tree provides an opportunity to extend the hope of the Gospel through the purchase of and delivery of Christmas gifts on behalf of incarcerated parents.
WOW ‘WRAP UP A BICYCLE’ ($3000)
In support of our Village in Bwacha, Africa. This year the focus is on providing bicycles for their teams of volunteers who provide home based care for dying orphans and widows in Zambia and Malawi. These special people sometimes walk up to 8 hours per day to minister to their patients. A bicycle reduces that travel time by 80% and our funds will provide 10 bicycles.
Rose of Durham Christmas Celebration ($800)
Young parent support centre, grounded in faith. From the abundance of God’s love, called to serve young parents and their children. We’re partnering with their walk-through Christmas celebration at KSCC with take-home light refreshments!
PREGNANCY HELP CENTRE ($800)
Our partnership will help to provide Christmas gift bags for the various families that participate in their services. It is a tangible and practical demonstration that there are churches and people that support and care for them in their season of life.

Thank you for giving to our Christmas at King Initiatives to support those in the Durham Region and around the world. All funds contributed over and above the $14,550 target will go toward other underfunded Global and Local Board-Approved projects in our 2023 Global and Local Outreach budgets
