Dave Larmour
Lead Pastor
I am honoured to serve as the primary teaching pastor, and lead pastor at KSCC. The word grace is one of my favourite words, and I get the privilege of announcing the gospel of grace on a regular basis. I have been serving at KSCC since 2006. I am married to Pia for almost 30 years, and am Dad to our two adult daughters Bethany and Riley—family is the best! I am a devoted Maple Leafs fan, and still believe all things are possible...including a future Stanley Cup parade on Yonge Street before I die! I have a Bachelor of Theology degree from Master’s College (Peterborough), a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Briercrest Seminary (Saskatchewan) and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University (Fredericton)...and I absolutely love our church family and our greater community.
Al Heath
executive pastor & global outreach director
I am excited to serve both the staff and congregation, and for God to use the gifts He has given me to advance His Kingdom. I am a graduate from Summit Pacific College and presently enrolled at Tyndale Seminary, working on my Masters of Divinity. While in Brantford, I also was also an electrical contractor. My wife, Sonya, and I came to Oshawa, after spending just over 17 years in Brantford, ON, where we raised our 3, now adult, children and planted/pastored our church. We both felt it was truly God’s timing for us to make the move to Oshawa and KSCC, as God opened the door for us. My prayer is that as we all work together, God will use us to reach many more people in Durham Region who still need to hear the Good News and give them an opportunity to meet Jesus!
Gary Campbell
pastor of adult ministries & finance director
I’m passionate about helping people discover their identity in Christ in order to realize their God-given potential. My aim is to equip Christ followers for engagement with the people and places around them in a way that brings Jesus glory! On the operational side, I oversee both finance and facility, as well as, coach a segment of our pastors and staff. Having a background in both the financial services and higher education, I joined the staff of KSCC in January of 2017. My lovely wife Maria and I are parents to four wonderful children (with one more on the way, pray for us!) I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and Economics from Eastern Michigan University and studied graduate level economics at McMaster University. I am currently working towards my Master of Theological Studies at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto.
Pia Larmour
Children’s Pastor
I am so privileged to give leadership to our Kids’ Department and our Women’s Ministry. I love the opportunity to work with volunteers to help people of all ages discover how deeply loved they are by God. I am married to Dave, and we have two amazing young adult children, Bethany and Riley. We also have a new puppy named Finley. Because of my love of all things sugar, I enjoy being active to try to balance that out. The highlight for me each day is being with my family. I have graduated from Master’s College, Sheridan College (Medical Office Administration) and have completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo. I am also in the process of completing my TESL certification with a desire to help new Canadians learn English.
Alysha Alava
Youth & assistant worship pastor
It’s a privilege to be able to serve as the Youth & Assistant Worship Pastor here at King Street. My favourite thing about serving youth is seeing them grow & be transformed by Jesus. My least favourite thing is getting mistaken for a youth due to my height…but I know that I’m tall to someone out there. Both my husband, Andrew & I graduated Master’s College and Seminary with a Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Worship & Creative Arts. We are blessed to share our love for creativity in many different capacities. I love anything related to music, sports & food. I also love spending time with friends, family & my family dog Hunter!
Sonya Heath
Worship & arts director
Before coming to King Street, my husband, Al and I had the opportunity to pastor in some incredible churches: Leamington Family Church, New Life in Brantford and Generations in Brantford. I served in a musical capacity at all of those and led worship for 13 years at Generations Church West Brant. They have all been very fulfilling and rewarding experiences! I have a degree from Master's College & Seminary, nursing diploma from Fanshawe (RPN), and Travel and Tourism diploma from Mohawk. I have three amazing children, they all are living on their own (which makes us newly empty-nesters) and we are blessed to be their parents. My hobbies include travel (my favourite destination has been Dubai or New Zealand), going on walks with Al and discovering new places, spending time with friends and family, and eating chocolate! In all I do, I have found that my purpose in life is to make God smile!
Lauren Rogers
Graphic design & Communications director (Currently on mat leave)
I graduated from the School of Design at George Brown College, and began working at KSCC in June of 2018. I love typography and I’m a big foodie—two passions I fused together when completing my thesis! I oversee all aspects of our church-wide branding, design, social media and communications strategies. My role is to support various ministries behind the scenes through creative solutions such as web design and print media. Though I typically work on the computer all day—I really prefer to be outdoors hiking or exploring a new place.
Ken Larmour
part-time Care pastor
I joined the King Street team in 2007 with more than three-decades of church ministry experience. I presently provide leadership to our Mature Adults Group (60+) and care ministry, visiting members of our community in need of pastoral support. Diane and I have been married since 1963 and are parents to Kim and Dave, and grandparents to Kaitlyn, Kyle, Bethany and Riley. Before I entered pastoral ministry, I spent twenty-six years in the Graphic Arts industry—rumour has it that I even served a brief stint as the drummer in a rock band. In 1988, I graduated from Master's College and Seminary, and have had the pleasure of pastoring at churches in Kingston, Brighton, and the Ottawa Valley.
Andrew Alava
interim young adult & Local Outreach Pastor
It is a privilege to be overseeing the Young Adults and Local Outreach initiatives here at King Street. I enjoy connecting with people and hearing their story. I graduated from Master’s College and Seminary specializing in Worship and Creative Arts, alongside my wife Alysha. I enjoy serving however needed and watching God work, not only in my life, but the lives of others. I am passionate about sports, music, and more sports.
Kristen Malcolm
Pastor of Discipleship and Local Outreach (currently on mat leave)
One of my core passions in life has been people and watching them grow to be the best versions of themselves. I am fortunate to be involved in designing spaces that aim to assist individuals on their journey of following Jesus by incorporating adult teaching opportunities, mental health initiatives, and community engagement projects. I am married to my husband, Jared, am a mom to our beautiful son, Kaiden, and have a puppy named Theo! Before coming to King Street, I worked within the church context for about 4 years in all areas from children’s ministry to worship (and everything in between!) I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University, a Master of Theological Studies from Tyndale Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. In my spare time I enjoy a good book or board game, cute coffee mugs, and real honest conversation!
Darlene Ferguson
Part-time bookkeeper
I am thrilled to be a part of the King Street Community Church family, sharing my 30+ years experience and knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting. Prior to working at King Street, I worked as an accounting clerk in my hometown of Collingwood, Ontario. If the past few years has taught me anything, it is that life and time with family is so precious, so following the birth of my first grandson, Jacob, I made the big move to Northumberland County, where my daughter, son-in-law and grandson live (which has given me access to endless baby snuggles!). In my spare time, I love to read, crochet, go on walks, and as many know, I say that I'm 'solar-powered', so you will most likely find me outside on a sunny day!
Anita Blanco
Administrative assistant (part-time)
It is a blessing for me to be part of the wonderful family at King Street. The privilege of being able to serve God and the Christian community complements my purpose in life. Jesus gave me new life and following him is an honor. I have a large and charming family, when I say large, I am not exaggerating, my husband who inspires me, 4 children who are my reason for being better every day, my mother who gave me everything, my sister who is in heaven and my other sister and niece who bring out the best in me. I worked hard to fulfill a dream and thanks to that I obtained a Diploma in Community and Developmental Service Work at Trillium College. I come from a small Caribbean Island called Cuba, but I feel as Canadian as maple syrup. I really enjoy being able to help the most vulnerable in society, I am passionate about music, I love taking care of my family, and walking is my favorite sport. I can't resist a cup of tea and a dark chocolate. Trees, sunflowers and butterflies are my favorite part of the divine creation.
