Missional Initiatives

Missional initiatives will lead us to become a church of 1200 people, meeting in 3 locations by 2027 …

Missional initiative #1—Small Group Communities (community)

Joining a circle where we can love and be loved, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated and know and be known can be a game changer.  We believe that circles are better than rows and that life is primarily about healthy relationships (learn how you can get involved by clicking here).

Missional initiative #2—Intergenerational and Multi-Ethnic (diversity)

Healthy church communities reflect the community they serve.  We live in a diverse part of the Greater Toronto Area that reflects a multi-ethnic and multi-generational representation.  KSCC is an accessible church for everyone – the younger and the older, for every ethnicity represented in the Durham Region and for people familiar with the Christian faith and for those with searching hearts who are at the edges of faith (learn how you can get involved by clicking here).

Missional initiative #3—Multi Site (outreach)

We consider ourselves a mid-sized Canadian church, who is committed to making room for others.  We have opened the circle wider by offering a live-stream worship gathering for those who want to experience our gathering on-line.  We’re committed to growing our central site at 611 King Street West, (Oshawa).  We’re also open to starting a third location in a growing part of the Durham Region – stay tuned! (learn how you can get involved by clicking here).

Missional initiative #4—Intentional giving (service)

When churches are healthy, they open the circle to others and they instinctively offer ‘help and hope, here and there.’  This is an important part of our mission – to reach across the fence and around the world and all of us have a part to play, because each of us has been given the capacity to do some things well – and when we share those gifts with others, we all get better (learn how you can get involved by clicking here).
